|We started off the day by saying cheerio to Anthony and Gaynor after a great weekend as they had to leave early to go to Taupo for a retired officers retreat.
We went to hamilton's botanical gardens where they had designer gardens from around the world inc English, japanese, Italian, Chinese, US and other incl Indian. IT was very good and had some lovely colour.
WE then spent a frustrating hour or two searching and eventually finding the Fuji camera shop where I got a back up copy of the memory card on to CD to avoid the risk of losing any more photos.
There followed a pleasant drive to Auckland which from Huntly onwards is expressway or motorway which was good. Stopping at Sylvia Park for lunch we then drove on to Parnell village in Auckland which was where we first stayed when we originally came out to New Zealand in 1977.
We tried to visit a Historical places trust house but it was only open Wed to Sunday and the other one in Auckland was Fri to Sun so not a good idea. We spent the afternnon looking at the speciality shops and art galleries in Parnell but din't buy anything this time.
In the evening we went to Delyse ( Christine's cousin) and Alfred's for dinner and met their younger daughter Jessica.
