Kota Bahru is known for its morning market, so we decided to stay for a couple of days to check it out. As we soon discovered, the morning market was very traditional. As we were walking up to the building, a truck off loaded a whole cow that had been skinned and quartered only a few hours before. I mean 'off loaded' as in, dumped onto the sidewalk. I have pictures, but decided that they might be too graphic for loading onto the website. The vendors sold every imaginable fruit, vegetable and sweets. It was great just to sit back and watch the day begin and the city come to life. Unfortunately, the light wasn't very good and most of my pictures don't do it justice. Tomorrow we are heading out to the Perhentian islands for some R&R.
