Entry Arch to Ancient Meknes (+ Bon!)

One of a Few Remaining Mosaic Tile Floors in Ruins of Ancient...

Now This Fellow Knows How to Get in the Shade!! #694

Today we journeyed some 33 Kms from Meknes to the Roman ruins of this town, very impressive, great mosaics in floors of was much different than many we have visited in that the town which has had inhabitants in this area since 3rd century BC is surrounded by flat lands where wheat and olives have been grown for centuries...the Romans having denuded the land very early on of all native trees.

Evidenced by the many bathes, aquaduct, and fountains...there once was a great deal of water here, no more.
