This is what we have been looking for - just took 6,300 miles of travel to find it.

St. Andrews by the Sea, New Brunswick. In their brochure they publish a warning that visitors fall head over heals in love with their town and they are not responsible if you drop everything and move here. No kidding - it is that great a place! We arrived late today, intending to spend one night but now expect to spend 2 or maybe more. Our picture windows look out on lovely Passamaquoddy Bay with tides that rise and fall 28 feet with lots of tidepools to explore. Biking will be wonderful and the town that we can bike or walk to is full of cute restaurants and shops with after-season sales. There is a public garden here, one of Canada's 10 most beautiful, and there is an island with biking/hiking trails that you can reach by auto, bike or foot over the ocean floor at low tide. We think we will like it here!

This noon we stopped in the big town of St. John to visit their City Market, always one of our favorite things to do. Finally found the wild blueberries we have been searching for and they have been worth the search - delicious! The market building was built in 1875-76 on the site of the oldest city market in North America. It was packed with local lunch-goers.
