Our next destination was Queenstown, the action adventure capital of the world. This is where bungy jumping originated, as did river boarding and several other crazy Kiwi inventions I think!

On the way into Queenstown you pass the 'Remarkables' a mountain range that goes exactly north-south and were used a lot in the filming of 'Lord of the Rings'. Before getting into Queenstown itself we stopped at Kawarau gorge, home of the first ever bungy site (and where the pillars of the kings were digitally inserted into the landscape in LOTR). The Kawarau bridge jump is 43metres, and several people off the bus were crazy enough to do it, me not included. But it was quite fun to watch people jumping off a bridge attached to a rope.

Queenstown is situated on the banks of Lake Wakatipu, and we had a group photo in front of the lake when we got into the city as this is the place were buses generally get very split up. In the evening we had a goodbye drinks and karaoke night, which was fun.
