Mark's Trip 2007 travel blog

Queenstown is meant to be a two day stop but because of the timetable for the bus going south we had to leave immediately and at 8:00 we hopped back on a bus with Karlan to go south. The south part of the trip ends in Queenstown so I will stop there on the way back.

Today is our Trip to Milford Sound which is famous for its stunning scenery. The bus drive down went through areas of stunning scenery past lake Wakatipu and many waterfalls before going through the Homer Tunnel which took 30yrs to complete, and onto Milford Sound.

At Milford Sound we took a boat trip from the harbour to view the stunninng scenery and waterfalls surrounding the fiord.

After the boat trip it was back on the bus and off to Lake Te Anau befor heading into Tuatapere. Just before arriving at Tuatapere we were offered a Jet boating trip on the river for $20 approx 7 quid for 20 mins which was to good to turn down and was great fun.

In the evening another group pasta meal was cooked and I managed not to get too involved as I had done a lot with the roast and instead got myself a free hair cut as Steve had clippers and had done many cuts before.
