Downtown Sydney

This morning we had a late breakfast and headed for Hayes Market in Chinatown where (we were told) you can buy a rabbit or, if it strikes your fancy, a rabbit jacket. This place sold absolutely everything, from duck tongues (gross!) to lingerie. Matt and I bought an "authentic" Aborigine boomerang and some artwork. We ate lunch in Chinatown (an eye-watering experience, when they say "spicy" they are dead serious) and then headed down to Darling Harbor to the National Maritime Museum. The museum was really fantastic, the highlight for us being an onboard entry to Kay Cottee's globe-circling Blackmores First Lady sailboat. Kay Cottee was the first woman to sail solo nonstop around the world (in 1988) and seeing how she lived daily life on the First Lady was very cool. We closed down the museum (some people close down bars, we close down museums) and headed back to Footprints for an early night.
