March 21-22 .... Hanoi, Vietnam

Today we took a 1 hour flight from Luang Prabang to Hanoi.

Wow ... what a different culture and vibe! This city is "alive" ... the constant "beep, beep" of the bikes and the repetitive number of men, women and kids wanting to sell you just about anything ... tours, taxi rides, used pirated books, umbrellas, food, fish ... what ever you want ... and they don't take no for an answer. It's NUTS ... but fun! We quickly learnt "Khong thoi!.... di di!"... which means "no ... leave me alone ... run off". Of course we said it with a cheerful smile.

The cyclo ride through downtown Hanoi gave us a good perspective of life in the big city (oh no ... of course we weren't pedaling ... our 65 year old driver was).

As a side trip we toured Halong Bay for 3 days on a Junk Boat. See the next entry!

Bones and Babs ...
