Am loving being in san pedro - its such a wicked place....made loads of friends and basically spending my days (trying) to study spanish and the evenings chilling out with friends in the hotel or bars drinking mojitos etc...very cool lifestyle!...the spanish is getting better and am definitely improving, although my teacher clarita is quite young and inexperienced - nowhere as good as my last one...but am still learning new things everyday and conversations getting less slow and painful! and the location of the school is stunning - right on the shores of the lake so at least i have a nice view to look out at when i get bored!

i went over to san marcos (another lakeside town) on the boat one afternoon as there's a nice beach there and good swimming and lots of cliffs you can jump off...lots of fun!

one sunday, a few of the girls from the school took a bus up to Chichicastenango a town up in the Guatemalan highlands..its famous for its sunday markets which were absolutely crazy - the biggest markets have ever seen and so many people there is was totally mental.. bought a few souvenirs, but couldn't hack it for more than a couple of hours was so claustrophobic that we went back home and straight to the bar to recover!
