Well after all the rain in Puerta Varas we were due for some sunshine. It lasted a morning while we were on the bus to Puerto Montt. As we were waiting to board the Navimag boat which would take us down the coast of Chile to Puerta Natales it started to rain again !
We stocked up on Vodka, diet coke and pisco sour for the trip in case it got a bit rough (also had the sea sickness tablets ready !). We boarded the boat, found our cosy cabin (shared with two other people) and dumped our stuff in our lockers.
There were about 300 people on the boat. It was a nice journey down with some good scenery. There was a stop on the way to see a 'local' village unspoilt by civilization but it sounded a bit touristy to us so we didn´t bother going.
The entertainment on the boat was videos, bingo and lectures.... so naturally we just drank ! The speciality on board was ´happy sour´ where pisco sour was cheaper !
We played cards, met lots of people and got very drunk on the last night (Monica and another girl we met seemed to enjoy themselves dancing on there own in the middle of the dance floor !).
The trip took three days and we arrived in Puerto Natales on the Thursday morning.
