Our last day on Fraser island started in Robs words with some "real rough un's" (so we guessed he meant the roads...uh-oh!). We headed first to Lake Wabby and Rob dropped us at a viewing point and we walked the rest as the lake about 30-40mins through the rainforest. Lake Wabby was situated in the middle of a huge sandblast and he couldn't get the tank down there, shame. The water was again just rainwater and was so refreshing as again the weather was very hot. A chance for boys to be boys and to run down the dunes and to jump/dive into the water, which was all very entertaining and we then had to walk for about another 40mins to the beach, this time trekking over the sand dunes instead of through the shaded forest! argh! It was just like walking in the Sahara desert, the white sand seemed to go on forever and ever but suddenly trees and the beach was waiting along with Rob and his tank....oh yes, and the cookies, teas and muffins :o). He told us that he had never "lost" anyone on his tours and beside he didn't want to start today as it was too much paperwork!! A BBQ lunch at Eunong Resort was followed by another drive where we saw another bus collide with a tree and put out the back window! The weather turned a little cloudier which was welcomed after 3 days of glorious sunshine, so it was time for a quick snoze at Lake Birrabeen as we hadn't much sleep the previous night due to the activity in the Dingo Bar and then back to the Jetty for the boat toHervey Bay. Fraser Island was absolutely stunning with a great guide, great people (hello Lezil and Chris! See you in Melbourne or Sydney!!) and scenery which will be remebered by us both in years to come.... sad the trip has ended....

Packing again tonight as v. early bus tomorrow to Brisbane!
