Marlborough Sounds was beautiful, we had patches of sunshine, enough to appreciate the views and to do a few vinyard tours, which is the main thing. We sampled various delicious wines (correction I did, Donal drove so had to settle for appreciation by smell). We drove from Blenheim back through Picton, Havelock and onto Nelson.

From here we went to Abel tasman National Park, a really gorgeous place with miles and miles of beautiful golden sandy bays and bright blue water. Unfortunately the weatehr kicked in again. We did manage to get a lovely walk in for about 2 hours before the rain kicked in. We drove as far north as Collingwood and the farewell spit before bedding down for the night in our van in a shopping centre carpark!

Then we were off again the next day to the west coast via the Buller gorge. We havent a huge amount to write about here as largely we just spend our days driving, the weather hasnt allowed us to do much more. Having said that every corner we round we come across an even more beautiful view. I think this trip haas inspired a return visit to New Zealand but maybe in the summer.
