Queenstown is New Zealand's self styled outdoor adventure capital with a very lively apres ski night life that certainly kept me busy over the past few months!
Back in July we had the Winter Festival in town which was a week of non stop events and party's throughout the day in town and up the mountain, and then leading onto after work venues. This was a very busy week for me events wise at Coronet Peak, but great fun.
We had at least one event on the ski fields each day, but I did manage to find some time to let my hair down in the evenings! We went to a 'Feeler's gig (a well known kiwi band), had a top night at the Jazz party up at the Skyline Gondola which had a great line of up bands, and there was also the 'Top Bloke' competition. This event has been run for a few years in Queenstown, local companies nominate and sponsor one of their male employees to enter with the aim to winning and being named Top Bloke! It's run throughout the Winter Festival week, starting off with Ladies night, and then throughout the week the entrants try to win as many votes from the local residents before the finale on the final day of the Winter Festival. A very amusing and thoroughly enjoyable event, and a top performance from Coronet Peak's entrant, Jeremy!!
The season wouldn't be complete without some work parties as well, of which there were quite a few!! We had a Food & Beverage staff party midway throughout the season at the Rocky Gully Cafe - Heidi's, which was a great little venue for the night. We decided to make it fancy dress with the theme being to come dressed as something beginning with either an 'F' or a 'B' (Food & Beverage). Fancy dress is not so easy when you don't have a huge array of clothes to choose from, nor a big budget to make an outfit either!! Check out the photos to see what I went dressed as.....!
