Glad to have finally cleared all the red tape we zoomed down to Dover on Tuesday pm and caught the 10.15pm ferry to Calais. Arrived after midnight and slept in a ditch near St Omer under a starry sky. Matt, who watches a lot of Discovery Channel, worried about French timber wolves but the sun came up and we were not only alive but so ON OUR WAY!!
The M'way south skirts to the east of Paris, through Reims and ontowards the Swiss border. In mixed weather we found a nice camp site by the Moselle south of Nancy and had our first glass of wine on French soil while the rice cooked. The speedo said we'd done 537kms which might be a 'days run' record for Claude. CU G&M.
