Entering into Vietnam from Cambodia was probably our most enjoyable border crossing. We took a mini bus for a short jaunt to a boat dock where we jumped onto a ferry and took the Mekong river through customs and into Vietnam. The boat ride was great, four of us on a boat that could haul 50, floating down the river past floating houses and rice mills, small dugout canoes barely keep afloat thier driver and the smell of burning rice husks fills the air. The air pollution seems to be alot higher here but hopefully it clears up after we leave this rice processing area of Vietnam. After a few hours we were in Chau Doc, Vietnam. We're only staying a night but we have enjoyed some Pho (vietnamese soup)on the street!
