Six thirty was the time Lynne chose to rise, I arose a bit later and after breakfast we selected all the tours we were going to take for this half of the cruise (the eastern side). We got most of them but missed out on the elephant trek for today. Today was Lynne's birthday and being an elephant aficionado would have liked a tour of the Koh Samui jungle on the back of a pachyderm. We found out that these had been pre-booked by those who received tour booking forms with their tickets. We didn't, so settled for a 7 ½ hour multi-stop bus tour of the island.

The bus tour was quite good, but nothing to write home about. But I will briefly. Temples, markets, temples, monkeys picking coconuts, temples, shops, a beach we never got to see, an old traditional house, temple, and a very nice lunch at a resort called the Boat House. It was hot and humid, so we drank and sweated/perpired plenty.

This is our third night. We've seen a few live shows, Lynne has played bingo, I've been to a wine appreciation class (I graduated with honours and bought a few bottles to drink at our evening dinners), had the captains welcome party, formal night and Italian night dinners. Sampled the spa, been to the walking deck, might yet get to the gym.

Hope the photos come through. Tomorrow we are in Bangkok the city of angels.
