I am writing from Vorrhaut, in Holland - back where we found ourselves in early July. We have come full circle, and it has been quite a trip. The final stretch from Altrincham to Kingston on Hull took us over the highest pass in England, The Cat and the Fiddle (named after the pub at the summit)in the customary howling storm. We continued to Bakewell, then to Laneham -near Lincoln- and then on to Hull, with the weather gradually clearing as we left the Pennine Range behind us. From Laneham to Hull we had mostly gentle terrain, with several nasty pitches thrown in to - prevent our becoming complacent - and then we relaxes in a lovely campsite at Hull before boarding the overnight ferry to Rottedam. From Europort, near Rotterdam, we found our way over familiar roads to the Eaton's at Voorhout. And we're finished!
We are beginning to reflect on the last 4 1/2 months - it will take a while for the experience to sink in. And we need to review our photos to jiggle our memories about where we've been and what we've done. Its been too much to process at one time - a rush of sights, sounds, people, places, foods and colors that will, hoptefully, become sorted out over time.
We arrive in Reno Thursday P.M. about 9:15 - then home to Truckee to unpack and begin the next phase of our lives. We are looking forward to being at home and hope to contact you all as we settle in.
Our love to all,
Ken & Liz
