In the past couple weeks we have covered more of Peru than our little map shows. Between domestic flights, bus and train rides we have traversed a good chunk of the country. The geographic diversity of Peru is remarkable. It is like the whole globe rolled into one country. Peru has everything- tropical beaches, sandy deserts, steamy jungles, mountain lakes and forests, and even frigid glaciers. We can't think of a climate zone that Peru doesn't have.
Also, every guide book that we read says to beware of thieves and pick pockets in Peru. Maybe we have just become expert travelers by now, but we never felt any kind of threat. We found the local people to be extremely friendly, trusting, and proud of their country. All it takes to make a new friend is to simply say ¨Hola¨, and they will start a conversation with you. We could easily spend much more time in Peru and see something completely different every day. On our next trip here we are going to go deep into the Amazon jungle!
