Hello friends,
Greetings from Merry Olde England! As njoted above, there is light at the end of the tunnel, but lately its been a rainy and windy tunnel! From Edinburgh we traveled South, landing at Berwick on Tweed, which was gorgeous. Our campsite was on a hill overlooking the old fortress and we some protection from the wind via a stone wall. Spectacular sunset and sunrise from on high over the ocean...wonderful. We continued to Newcastle on Tyne along the coast - nose into the wind. In South Shields we had to replace a spoke, and camped close by. We then rode on to Middlesborough and west to Yarm where we spent two nights with Pip & Nigel longtime friends of Liz. Then South through York, Selby, and West through a horrific storm over the Pennines to Manchester and Pat Daber's in Bowden where we presently find ourselves - in the lap of luxury! We might stay here awhile!
We're not sure of our next step - the storm season seems to have moved in a little earlier than anticipated so we are planning our next step. Our destination is the coast and a ferry to Holland.
We are warm and dry, happy and healthy, and hope you are all the same.
Ciao for now,
Ken& Liz
