Sarah and Denis Round the World travel blog

Here we are in one of the smallest planes we have ever...

Very little legroom or room for anything

But we were glad that we got on it and didn't have...

And we were treated to excellent views of the bottom bit of...

After crossing the Andes we descended back down to land at Ushuaia

Ushuaia with the Martial Mountains behind

The Beagle channel that joins the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean

After all the excitement of whales, elephant seals and cocktails we treated ourselves to a quiet night in Puerto Madryn followed by a 16 hour bus journey further down the coast to Rio Gallegos. We were hoping to catch a flight to Ushuaia on Tierra del Fuego but had no clue how easy or quickly we would be able to. The bus to Ushuaia is complicated as you have to cross Chilean territory and all buses route through Punta Arenas which not only means you have to change buses there but it takes about an extra 12 hours than it actually needs to be.

So, upon arrival at Rio Gallegos at 7:30 a.m. we got a taxi to the airport and then managed to get on the 8:45 a.m. flight to Ushuaia. Superb !!
