(KtH) After breakfast at Heleen's it was time to see Suzanne and Wiet. We had said we would meet them at noon but for some reason I thought we had to go to Amsterdam station and stuffed up the time we had to leave. It was going to be an extra half an hour travel to get to Heemstede. Unfortunately this turned out to be an extra hour as we missed our connecting train as well. Finally we made it and Wiet picked us up.

Lunch was ready and waiting for us. We got a tour of the new house which is fantastic. They have done a really good job doing the place up but the star of the show was, of course, their daughter Sietje. What a cutie!

In the afternoon we went for a walk around Heemstede. We visited the local shops where there was a kind of Christmas festival taking place. We even saw a Santa Claus although I'm not sure I'm too happy about that. He doesn't really belong in Nederland (it's almost like an invasion of commercialised culture). There were definately no fat guys in red suits when I was a kid - it was all about St Nickolaas and Zwarte Piet. There was also a free poffertje stand so we took the time to share a plate. Yum.

We spent the night in Heemstede.
