Hank and Marilyn Coast to Coast 2017

Hank travel blog
Welcome to our trip journal! A major item on our retirement bucket list is to travel across our wonderful country. There is SO MUCH to see 'out West.' So we plan to begin our Journey on Wednesday, August 16. Planned highlights include traveling the Oregon Trail, visiting some of the great National Parks (Arches, Mesa Verde, Bryce, Zion, Death Valley, Yosemite and the Grand Canyon), and traveling along Route 66. We think we will return before November, but no date is set. That is the joy of retirement.

The appearance of the full moon on August 7 set us in motion. On August 21 we plan to be with Marilyn's brother Michael in Kentucky to watch the total eclipse. It is just another wonder of Planet Earth, designed by the Creator of all. For more on the total eclipse, go to NASA Eclipse.

Right now we are madly trying to gather everything together that we think we will need over ten weeks. We leave with Summer weather, but expect temperatures in the 40s in the Rocky Mountains. We will try to be prepared!

If you think you might be somewhere along our route, drop us an email. We would love to see friends and make new ones.

Please follow our journey and wish us well. Daily posts will begin from Gettysburg PA on August 16 evening.
