Callum Rowe and The Machete Diaries

I'm taking the first quarter of my second year of college off to travel to Xela, Guatemala to study Spanish and immerse myself in the local culture. I am studying at a school that offers personal tutoring, a homestay, and volunteer opportunities to its students. It is a non profit set up to fund a number of social programs and I'm hoping to get involved in their work with street children. I have saved up just enough to be able to do some fun stuff like: hiking in Guatemala, traveling into El Salvador to visit friends, maybe even diving in Utila, Honduras! I'm starting to get a little nervous as the departure date rapidly approaches, and I'm beginning to think perhaps my Spanish isn't good enough to take on this challenge. It will be hard at first, regardless I am sure my 15 weeks in Central America will be awesome.
