Sep 13, 2019 - Tour the USS Midway aircraft carrier. Visit the Star of India, the ship that circumnavigated the globe hundreds of times. Visit the Bob Hope Memorial.
Sep 14, 2019 - See Mission Beach and the sea lions at La Jolla. Drive to San Juan Capistrano to see the mission, which was founded in 1776. The mission has the oldest building in California still in use (a chapel built in 1782), and is famous for the annual return of swallows.

Drive to Mariposa Point to take a Ranger guided shuttle to see the giant sequoia trees.

Sep 25, 2019 - Drive to Napa Valley, and explore the towns of Napa, Sonoma, and Calistoga. Take a winery tour, and do the evening river walk in Napa.
Sep 26, 2019 - Go to Calistoga and take a hot air balloon ride. This is predicated upon the weather and whether Sandy will valiantly participate.

Drive to Point Reyes Lighthouse, reputed to be the windiest point on the Pacific Coast.

Oct 4, 2019 - Take the Best of Portland Walking Tour to discover Portland's history and its livability and sustainability. As part of the tour, see the 2nd largest copper statue in the U.S.

Oct 6, 2019 - Visit Rialto Beach, which is the only National Marine Sanctuary north of California. See great looking offshore sea stacks. Take a 2 mile hike (each way) to see Hole-in-the-Wall, a dramatic rock arch carved by the sea. If done at low tide, one can walk through the arch's hole.

Oct 10, 2019 - Go to Granville Island Market, an urban type farmer's market plus separate buildings for different types of art and various crafts. The unique aspect of this market is that it is directly across False Creek from downtown Vancouver with mountains in the background.
Oct 11, 2019 - Take a scenic seaplane ride from Vancouver harbor to view the city from the air, including Stanley Park, downtown,and the British Columbia University campus.

Have dinner downtown with BC friends.
Oct 12, 2019 - Drive to Whistler Mountain for lunch. This was the main venue for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Have lunch, and take a gondola ride between the mountains.
Oct 13, 2019 - Take a walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge, which stretches 450 feet across and 230 feet above the Capilano River.
