|Spent Boxing Day pulling down the annexe and finding a place for everything again in the caravan then headed off for our little holiday to Strahan. We had been given lots of scary tales about the road to Strahan, and given the weather prediction of snow in the mountains, we decided to go the long way round. This meant driving up to Launceston, across to Burnie and down to Strahan. A long drive (took us about 8 hours) but as we had not seen a lot of these parts it was an enjoyable one. It is amazing how the scenery changes when you get to the west side of the island. Very isolated, huge, dense forests and wonderful views of Cradle Mountain.
