|Martina and I grabbed some pastries and headed over to Monaco today. Not as nice as we were expecting. It's a country built up on a hill by a port. Lots and lots of just big highrises. Climbed a lot of stairs and got up to the palace but no royalty was in. It was really cold and windy. We stopped for a coffee to warm up before heading down to the port.
There were some MASSIVE GINORMOUS boats in the port there. Namely Lady Moura. I really want a boat! Haha. We made our way up to Monte Carlo which is much nicer since thats where the casino is. Had to check our cameras before we could go in. We could only go in so far as we were not wearing the appropriate attire ( I was wearing jeans and sneakers) Gorgeous inside though. Gold on the ceilings. The opera house is in the same building. The outside was being refurbished so no good pictures.
Looked at all the shops we couldn't afford and saw some really nice cars. Stopped for a late lunch before climbing back up to the train station.
Back in Nice we stopped at a grocery store for a bottle of sangria and red wine. Picked up a baguette, some brie cheese and some goats cheese with pesto and had a light dinner and drank. Our new roomie Os from Isreal but lives in London joined us.
We all got dressed up (me in my dress and heels!) and headed out on the town. We went to Wayne's bar which is an irish pub and they had an english band playing. They were really good. We were up on the tables dancing. Had a really good time. Met some danish guys.
