First day at the Intercontinental was as we hoped for - sunny, warm 86 degrees and no humidity. That being said, while the beaches and water are beautiful, I'm still not sure it is better than the white sand of 30A.
Everyone woke up fairly early and we hit breakfast - one of the nice features of the hotel is that breakfast is included (about the only thing) and the spread is an impressive one ranging from eggs and bacon all the way to curry chicken and Japanese dumplings.
After breakfast the kids hit the pool and I snuck in a workout - always an adjustment to convert weights from KG into pounds and speed on a treadmill from km/hr to mi/hr. You think you are running faster only to find out that you aren't.....
Both Shea and I hit the spa for massages around mid-day which was a nice way to unwind after 10 days of travel. Rest of the afternoon was spent hanging by the pool and in the ocean watching Helen and Yates try to master riding inflatable jet skis (not exactly that successful).
We wrapped up the day with drinks and then a fire lighting/show by the local Fijians. Oh yeah, and a whole host of American songs from a different group of locals including Country Roads, Margaritaville, etc.
