We departed Barton Springs Campground on the morning of the 8th, and headed south on I-24. Traffic in the area of I-24 / I-75 in Chattanooga was pretty heavy, but we made it through ok and got off onto route 74/64 in TN and headed east.

This was a beautiful trip through the hilly part of south east TN along the Ocoee River. The Ocoee is a big attraction for white water rafting. The road was narrow and winding. When we arrived at the park in Hiawassee GA, we found our site backed up to the Hiawassee River. Bentley made friends quickly with the neighbors pup (Georgia Lee) and both of them had a good run and romp in the field and down into the crystal clear (and cold) waters of the river.

We spent the next couple days exploring the area including a short hike on the Appalachian Trail.
