After a domestic morning we headed just over the border into Austria to Dornbirn. Just outside the town is the Rappenloch Gorge. This is an area where a gorge has been gouged out by the Dornbirner River. We enjoyed a walk through the gorge to the Staufensee, a lake fringed by forest. The gorge had a long industrial past and had been used to provide hydroelectric since the late 19th century.

After our walk we headed to the other attraction there the Rolls-Royce Museum housed in an old 19th century cotton mill and said to house the world’s largest collection of Rolls-Royces. There was rows and rows of Rolls-Royces many from the 20s and 30s.(no photos allowed) but to see website www.rolls-royce-museum.at
