Today looked as if it could be a good day so with lunch in the back pack and our walking boots on we headed south from Seahouses along the Northumberland Coast Path. We made our way across the golf course and then through the wildlife sanctuary onto the beach. We had discovered that the trail ran alongside the road so walking on the beach was much more preferable.

We stopped for lunch overlooking the small harbour at Beadnell which has the only west facing harbour on the east coast. We also explored the disused lime kilns built in the 1700s to smelt lime for the land and the new emerging industries at the time.

Continuing our walk we then made our way along the beach on Beadnell Bay. We let Daisy off. What fun she had racing along the sands, rolling and just having fun. We tried to get her in the water but she wasn’t having any of it! Thought she was a Labrador!

Time had flown and so we turned back this time through the dunes and then on the formal trail back to Seahouses. A great walk.
