Along the Royal Mile

It was another good day so we headed to Holyrood Park in the centre of Edinburgh. The famous walk in the park is to Arthur’s Seat which at 823ft above sea level towers over Edinburgh. In our previous visits to Edinburgh neither of us had climbed up to the seat so today we decided to we would walk up. There are numerous paths up, we chose the least steep. The views from the top were spectacular and because it was a good day we could see for miles.

After lunch sitting at the top we headed down but we then walked along the top of the Salisbury Crags another major feature of the park.

By the time we got back down we needed a cup of tea and a cake so we went to the tearoom at Holyroodhouse. We strolled a bit along the Royal Mile before heading back to base.
