The Capper Nomads Europe Adventure travel blog

Today we decided to explore the Northshore of Brienzee (Lake Brienz). Compared to Thunsee the lake and lakeshore was much quieter. We found a lovely picnic spot along the lake and from there enjoyed a walk along an excellent lakeshore path.

After returning to the car we continued along the lake to the small village of Brienz after which the lake is named. We parked at the far end of the village and enjoyed a walk along the promenade. The village is famous for its woodcarving workshops and along the promenade at the far end there was a festival going on with a number of woodcarvers demonstrating their skills. We also found the Brungasse with its sturdy traditional wooden chalets. A charming village.
