Weekends are always busy in England so trying to get away from the crowds is a must for us. We looked once again at our "1001 Great Walks" and discovered there was one up the Kenmere Valley.

The parking at the start of the walk was limited and we got the last space and it was only 10 o'clock in the morning. Fortunately the parking was the start of a number of walks in the area.

We started our walk and we had to cross a field with cows and they had calfs. Not a good idea so we moved fairly quickly through the field.

Our walk took us steadily up the valley to a small reservoir and a wild landscape and we never saw anyone until we started our descent. The reservoir was full and excess water was coming over the spillway. It was a great peaceful walk.
