The Roman Baths (in Bath)

The baths with the Abbey behind

The Circus - rows of flats in Bath

The Avon

We wanted to have a proper look at Bath - after our disastrous attempt on Wednesday (but I’m glad we did because it is a beautiful city) so left Frome early this morning and, on Jared’s advice, drove to Trowbridge (half an hour up the road) and caught the train into Bath. So much easier than having to stress about parking.

We arrived at 9am which was a great time (before coach loads of tourists and school children).

First stop was the Roman Baths. Absolutely fascinating and we couldn’t believe how well maintained the whole site is. We then just wandered the streets until about 3pm then caught the train back to Trowbridge.

We are staying 2 nights in Cirencester - labelled the capital of The Cotswolds (and the home of Pam Ayers for those old enough to know who that is).

On a side note, we have been so lucky with the weather - the photos may show dark skies but even though we might get the odd shower, generally it’s just overcast the sun does come out, and temps are low 20s but warm enough for tshirts.
