Me, Kii and the family

Well what a week. I have finally made it to Brisbane with a couple of detours along the way. I managed to get off the Bruce Highway for a couple of days and cycled along the Sunshine Coast. On the first day out of Maryborough I stopped at a cafe just off the road and got talking to a lad called Trevor Edwards. He was a professional cyclist for eight years and is now a reflexologists. He has also cycled between Adelaide and Perth (the hardest part of the trip). He was full of good advice said if I was in any difficult that I should give him a ring (nice one).

On the Friday I stopped at Pereigan Beach on the Sunshine Coast and met some people who were from Cairns, they were a little surprised that I had managed to cycle the distance. They generously gave me some fresh prawns on go with my noodles that I had cooked.

Saturday was a slow ride along the rest of the Sunshine Coast which finished at Coloudra. This is where I met Kii and the family (check the photo), they gave me their address and asked if I would like to come to their home.

On the Sunday I arrived at their house and they really looked after me, cold beer which I could help myself fantastic food from the BBQ and meat pies for brunch and was even able to watch some Premier football and the North V South charity rugby match. They even offered me some tins of food for my trip (thank you Kii and the family).

Unfortunately to have to report that I lost at table tennis but I was beaten by the better person.

I will be spending Mon, Tues and Wed at YHA Brsibane then I will be heading south towards the Gold Coast and then on to Sydney.

Thank you for all the emails they are most appreciated
