After shopping at the local market yesterday afternoon, we met up with a few fellow travelers for dinner. We went to Reilly´s for some Irish pub grub. The pub was a great place to view the many night processions that were passing by. After eating, we headed back to our hotel to rest up for Friday.
Our group woke up around 5:15 to take a walk around town to view the many alfombras that were created overnight. They were made of fresh flowers and colored sawdust. The weather was perfect, and it was the first time we could clearly see Volcan Agua from Antigua. During the morning, different processions took place with the culmination being in late afternoon with the crucification, which ended in the main square.
