Mandy and Jon's Journey 2005 travel blog

We come back to Vientiane to bridge our travels to the south and obtain our Cambodian Visa. While were at it, we decide to visit America over at the 'ol US Embassy. MJ is running out of pages in her passport and it supposedly takes a half hour to complete the process.

We shack up at our previous guest house, Joe Guest House. Not 'Joe's Guest House', but Joe Guesthouse. It does have a better ring, we think. It will only be two nights and then we head to Pakse. Not unlike our time in Guatemala we have decided to not push it in Laos. There were other places in the North and in the West that we would have liked to see, but we would rather spend our time in just a few places than find ourselves bombarding here, there, and everywhere. Our time in Luang Prabang has proven once again that allowing time for not 'doing anything' allows the possibility of intimacy in the unlikeliest of places.

We have heard wonderful things about a few places in the south, and so we go there to see them and have them see us.
