The Easter weekend here in the UK was the usual cold wet and windy so did not do very much.
For the second week of the school holidays we were on grandparent duty with Didi joining us for three nights in Willingham. Tony went down on the train to London to pick her up late Sunday afternoon.
Day one activities were a long walk with Daisy and then making pizzas and jam tarts with Oma (Heather) in the afternoon. We all enjoyed the results for dinner.
Day two saw us heading to Wimpole Hall. It was a lovely day. Firstly we did the Easter goose trail through the gardens trying to find clues – the prize being an Easter Chocolate bunny. We then visited the Home Farm. There was a lot to keep an eight year old interested with rare breed pigs with piglets, ewes with lambs and beautiful shire horses.
After lunch we then explored the hall undertaking two trails around the house as Didi couldn’t make up her mind which one to do- above or below stairs. It was an interesting way of exploring the house and we all learnt a lot.
We took Didi home on Wednesday morning and enjoyed the rest of the day with her younger sister Evie now nearly two and full of mischief.
