Today we put on our walking boots and set off from Chapel Porth Beach up to St Agnes Beacon (630ft) one of Cornwall’s famous vantage point. Here we got great panoramic views –would have been better if the sun was shining.

From the beacon we made our way down to the coast and St Agnes Head where we joined once again the South West Coastal Path. Again some spectacular scenery added to by spotting a basking shark. The shark is a slow moving and generally harmless filter feeder and has anatomical adaptations to filter feeding, such as a greatly enlarged mouth and highly developed gill rakers.

We passed Towanroath Engine House standing silently on the shoreline before returning to Chapel Porth Beach. By this time the sun was shining.
