After enjoying some fun surf in the Taranaki area, we headed north along the West coast on our way back to Auckland. The week between Christmas and New Year's is a major holiday week here, and some of the "holiday park" campgrounds that we stayed in had literally thousands of people. But true to form, the Kiwis we met were all very friendly and even gave us some freshly caught fish. So the last dinners in our campervan were very tasty!

The weather held out for a few more days of sunshine, before turning into gale force winds, that will last until after we depart. Since the ocean is an angry, stormy mess right now, we are spending our last week in Auckland, enjoying the city life. And we are spending time with one of Marc's great friends, a Kiwi named Hone that he met in college. We had a blast on New Year's eve, celebrating the evening in the popular Viaduct area of Auckland. We have sold our campervan, and we are off to Sydney on Friday. Our six weeks in New Zealand we're ton of fun, we really enjoyed the people and scenery of this beautiful country!
