|After a nerve wracking week of medical testing ( thank the Lord all were negative), and temps already reaching triple digits, it was time to leave Arizona.
Although the weather this winter wasn't typical - a bit cooler and wetter - I had a most enjoyable time with my very dear friends. We went to horse races, spring training baseball games, mahjongg tournaments ( locally and a 2 day one in Las Vegas!), high tea, a candy factory tour, and lunches ( many , many lunches!).
With the coach safely in storage, I headed south to Tubac - a city I hadn't visited before. It is a small but interesting little town filled with art galleries, boutique shops and , of course, lots of shops filled with goods from Mexico. The old Tubac Presidio - the first military base in Arizona - is still open for visitation.
I had so many restaurants to choose from for a late lunch but I was lured into a pizza shop claiming to have "authentic N.Y. pizza". It did not disappoint. Haven't had pizza that good since last summer when I ate at Toor-ra-loo in Rochester Michigan.
I'm on my way!
