Happy Holidays! The sun has finally broken through, and we have had some beautiful weather. The blue sky provides a stunning backdrop to all the green scenery. We had an enjoyable Christmas, complete with a Chinese food buffet for dinner! Not quite the turkey and stuffing we were craving, but it was tasty (and the only place open).

Our treat to ourselves was to check into a nice hotel on Christmas day, it was a lot more comfortable than our campervan. And, we were able to call our families, so we felt connected on the holiday.

Then on the 26th, Boxing Day here, we started working our way south through the Hawke's Bay area. The landscapes were scenic, and more arid. It actually looked like Central California. Then after a night in Napier, we crossed over to the West Coast again, and here we caught some fun waves. We are working our way back up to Auckland, where we plan to spend New Year's eve!
