Today we visited the Principality of Monaco. Monaco has an area of 2.02 km2 (0.78 sq mi) and a population of about 37,800(2014); it is the second smallest and the most densely populated country in the world. It is also known as the playground of the rich.

First impressions are that it appears to be a very crowded city but we found it easy to drive in and park and then very pleasant to walk around.

We started our exploration at Monte-Carlo and the famous Casino a very impressive building. Again there were some very high end shops and hotels in this area but also some lovely gardens. Tony couldn't believe the number of Bentley's, Roll Royce's etc he kept seeing. We then walked along by the harbour where there were two serious super yachts. Oh how the top 1% live!

We then walked up to the old town visiting the lovely cathedral and of course the grave of Grace Kelly who married Prince Rainer in 1956; walked through the narrow streets and admired the Palais Pricier or Royal Palace.

We found it hard to imagine the Monaco Grand Prix being held here, a real challenge for the drivers and a virtual closedown of ordinary traffic movement in the principality.
