We took the train from Grindelwald up to Kleine Scheidegg with the intention of taking the Jungfrau train one stop up to Eigergletscher to then walk the Eiger Trail. There was so many tour groups at Kleine Scheidegg on the platform and people trying to get on the train to go up to the Jungfrau we gave up and decided we would walk the trail up to Eigergletscher. It was a good walk and gave us great views across to the glaciers.

At Eigergletscher we began the walk of the Eiger Trail. This 5.8km trail took us to the foot of the imposing Eiger North Wall. The trail was well maintained and of course popular with hikers. It was a great walk down to Alpinglen although the last part was steep descent.
