Hi friends and family!

It has been a crazy summer and we are obviously just now getting around to posting pictures. We have posted some pics on and off to Facebook, but have selected mostly different ones for M.T.J.

We were scheduled to leave home on May 6th, but a storm with high winds came through AZ, so decided to postpone for a day. Met our friends, Bill, Sharon and Joyce in Flagstaff for one night and continued on to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon for a week at the Trailer Village campground. We were visited by elk right in the campground and snow on Mother's Day (May 11th). It was quite a temperature change for us, we left temps of high 90's at home, got up to the rim and had to dig out our winter clothes. Burr!!!

We rode the free shuttle buses in the park at the South Rim enjoying all the points of interest and walked many of the trails. Our favorite hike at the South Rim was Ooh Aah Point Trail. Spectacular view of the canyon! Don't miss the drive out to Desert View tower either.

The first three posts will be the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, then we moved over to Jacob Lake and drove in to North Rim of the Grand Canyon. The sun was out and windy, but it made for comfortably hiking as we explored the other side of the Grand Canyon. Our favorite drive and hike was the Cape Royal overlook. A must!

We were leaving the North Rim and heading to Capital Reef, when we got a call in the morning from home that my bestfriend was involved in a serious car accident. We went home for three weeks to be there for her and her family.

This summer we are back up at Cedar Breaks National Monument. We are enjoying working with our old and new friends in the NPS. It has been fun exploring new places in the area. My goal this week is to get caught up. I will do three post each time I send an update (for those of you that are on our email list), so as not to overwhelm you with too many post. We just got back from a primitive camping trip at Tuweep, AZ on the North Rim. Got to get caught up so we can share the pictures.

As always, we are excited about sharing our adventures with you all and hope that you are enjoying your summer.
