KAPOORS ON THE ROAD
We had a great time visiting with Raj and his family and the big surprise was that we were able to spend time with Vy’s parents as well. We’d both been to Oahu before so we didn’t spend any time exploring the island, but chose to hang around the pool with the grandchildren and make to the most of our time with them.
Olivia and Moosie were very used to having people coming and going during their winter months in Hawaii, so they didn’t make a fuss when we told them it was time for us to leave. Thank goodness for FaceTime, because we talk to the kids regularly – they even have their own email account and can FaceTime us on their own.
We always laugh because the one thing they haven’t mastered is how to set their iPads so that we can see them clearly. We spend a lot of time looking at the ceiling or having them just out of view…seems as along as they can see us, they don’t realize we can’t always see them.
We decided to visit the Big Island seeing that we were so far from home anyway. It would be our first flight on Hawaiian Airlines, it’s always great to add another airline to our life list. We had heard great things about the island from our daughter Adia and her husband Geoff – but a big pull was the chance to see yet another active volcano and perhaps the first opportunity to see a lava flow.
