Hank and Marilyn Coast to Coast 2017 travel blog

Sister and brother

Brother Mike and his family

Clarksville railroad station

Today was the day after. The solar eclipse was over and done (until 2024 when those of us in the Northeast will be given another view). Friends departed, leaving us with family time. Marilyn has one (older) brother, Michael. Mike and Maria have been married 32 years and have two sons, Luis and Joshua. We haven't seen them all for many years, and the boys graciously spent time with the older generation.

We went to the nearby city of Clarksville TN. It was made famous by the song by The Monkees "Last Train to Clarksville." You can read about it here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Train_to_Clarksville) and listen on YouTube. We did a car tour of the city (founded in 1785) and ate lunch at the Blackhorse Pub and Brewery.

We spent time around the dinner table (sans the boys) sharing family memories. Tomorrow we will leave and continue our westward journey. The quilting museum in Paducah KY will be our first stop. We plan to spend the night in our tent across the river from St Louis. May God continue to be good to us.
