Over the border again – Bye-bye Utah, hello Colorado!

So many national parks and so little time.

We had to make a call about which places we could visit and which we’d have to miss. The decision was to go to the Colorado National Monument. It isn’t an actual monument, it is another national park of amazing rock formations. See the photos!

We then headed in a direction we hadn’t initially planned, and what a lovely surprise. We ended up driving through the mountains that are famous for skiing. We drove past Aspen and into Frisco. Absolutely beautiful. As it is autumn, the trees are changing colour.

Our little 4 cylinder Nissan Versa struggled up the mountains. The speed limit was 65mph and we could just manage 45mph. They are high mountains.

It was also cooler finally. We got to wear our long sleeves and jackets.

Anyway, we are taking all these different routes as we try to make our way to Mount Rushmore. It’s kinda out of the way. But, it’s good I guess, as we get to see these out of the way places we otherwise wouldn’t.
