Northern Elk along the road

One Log One Load

We pulled out around 9 am this morning heading north to Crescent City California for our next stay. This area has the National Redwood Forest so we will be visiting some more Redwood Trees. We will be staying at the Crescent City / Redwoods KOA for 3 nights and then on to Oregon, we are only about 14 miles away.

This time we were in California was 42 days and we will cover around 1300 miles from the southern border to the northern border. We will be glad to leave because everything is so expensive in this state to many taxes. This state is big on recycling, going green but the road are a mess, such as litter laying all over the roads, worse we have seen.

We drove US 101 the entire route which was a 4 lanes highway until we got to the National Redwood Forest. It cut down to 2 lanes and was not a straight road, not as bad as yesterday, but needed to keep it slow on all the curves. When you are driving these types of roadsin the motorhome towing the truck, pay attention. We got here around 4 pm and now making plans for tomorrow.
