It was a perfect day so we decided we would tackle Corn Du (873m) and Pen y Fan (886m) the highest peaks in the Brecon Beacons. The last time we were here Heather had not been well enough to tackle these peaks. Also the walk is the most popular in the National Park and so was quite busy

Parking at Storey Arms we took the circular route described in one of our walking books. It was a steady but steep climb up to Corn Du but the views were magnificent. It was short easy climb to Pen y Fan before we returned on an easier gradient path to the car park.

We felt pleased that we had achieved the summit.
